Five habits that build a roster of loyal clients

What twelve years of renewals taught us about keeping customers.

No titles in the blog post

Most of our customers have been with us for more than five years. When we asked them why, almost nobody mentioned a feature. They talked about how we work together.

1. Say no early

If a request does not fit, we say so in the first meeting and suggest an alternative. Clients remember honesty far longer than they remember a yes that turned into a delay.

2. Show progress every two weeks

Working software beats status reports. A short demo every sprint keeps everyone aligned and surfaces problems while they are still cheap to fix.

3. Fixed prices, written down

We agree scope and price before we start. When something changes, we write down the new scope and price before doing the work.

4. The same people, start to finish

The consultant who runs your discovery phase is the one who trains your team at go-live. No hand-offs, no repeating yourself.

5. Stay after launch

Go-live is the start of the relationship, not the end. A quarterly review keeps your setup aligned with how your business is evolving.
